Replaced integer with AtomicInteger to fix spotbugs issue (#4337)
* replaced integer with AtomicInteger to fix spotbugs issue
* added @Restricted to prevent further usage
* replaced volatile with final because of AtomicInteger usage
* implemented a getter and an increment method
* fixed typeo in javadoc
