Just received the notification that the call for devrooms and main talks is now
open:

    * Main talks: <https://fosdem.org/2013/call_for_main_speakers.html>
    * Dev rooms: <https://fosdem.org/2013/call_for_devrooms.html>

I think we should encourage KK to submit a main track talk related to Jenkins
somehow (not the community status update one though), but this email is
primarily about the dev room.

One interesting thing mentioned in the announcement is:

    Each year we receive more requests than we can host. To better achieve our
    goals, preference will be given to proposals involving multiple,
    collaborating projects. Projects with similar goals/domains that make
    separate requests will be asked to co-organize a devroom under their common
    theme.

I propose we create a themed devroom not just around Jenkins, but around
"Testing and Automation" and reach out to our colleagues in other projects:

  * Selenium
  * Gerrit
  * Testing frameworks (JUnit, RSpec, Behat, etc)
  * More?

I'm going to ping the people I know in those communities and organize a
proposal for the "Testing and Automation Devroom" since I think this highly
increases the chances of getting a devroom, but I also think it's a good way
for us to cross-pollinate with other "nearby" projects.

but I wanted to let everybody know what I'm planning, and make sure nobody had
any vehement objections :)

Cheers
