Presumably if a commit is initially pushed to some other branch, and
then that branch is merged into master, you want the notification—even
though the push of the merge is not adding this changeset to the repo.

It is sometimes useful to see when a fix is backported to the stable
branch, though it is definitely confusing when the notification gives
no indication that this is not on master.
