Obviously such a thing would probably only work for freestyle type builds. Maven2 builds the time is eaten in between every mojo execution so Sum(mojo time) < (maven start time - maven end time). There can be a lot of overhead in here...

No one really wants to drill into the logs; but, if on the job page there was a graph showing where the time was spent, it might raise the issue.
