Yes, the email plugin is to trigger build using email, and that request should be validated against the jenkins user authentication system. There is a MAIL COMMANDER plugin which seems to have no latest features for IMAP, POP3 over SSL etc and the developer is unreachable for further enhancement. Thinkbackup is stuck with several issues and there is no visibility of what thinbackup is doing when it triggers the backup. I do not see any development to happen now because the owner/co-owner do not have much time for this plugin now and they are planning to change the entire architecture.
