I have a plugin that I've written some time ago that I am looking to include as part of the public jenkins update repository. Having read through Hosting Plugins <https://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/JENKINS/Hosting+Plugins> it seems that the only way to do this is to include the source within the jenkinsci project on github (currently the code sits in another github repository), is this a hard requirement or are there some steps I can follow for plugins hosted outside of the jenkinsci project?
