Hi, not sure why one need a new plugin. To update a Widget in Dashing a simple curl would do it. Wouldn't a simple "Execute Shell Script" not be enough? Have you checked out Jenkins Build Widget <https://gist.github.com/mavimo/6334816> which shows the build status for specified Jenkins builds. We use this in 10+ dashboards with several 100 of builds polling every 1 minute without a problem.
Just wanted to let you that there is already an option to display Jenkins build status with dashing.
