The original author of the Gitlab Plugin
(https://github.com/jenkinsci/gitlab-plugin) is no longer using Jenkins and
so is not actively working on the plugin much anymore. Meanwhile the plugin
has over 4200 installs, so it does seem to have fairly strong user support
and interest. It has MANY open issues and has also received some good pull
requests lately. I've been taking an active role in trying to work on it,
but I don't actually know Java and have no experience writing Jenkins
plugins, so I'm not the best person for the job (but I'm good at getting
help from more capable people).

The plugin seems to have no unit tests to speak of, and would really
benefit from some to help reduce backwards-incompatible changes as the
plugin and the Gitlab API we are consuming evolve. Also I sense that the
codebase doesn't always adhere to "best practices" for accessing the
Jenkins APIs, so it would probably benefit from review by an experienced
Jenkins developer to identify areas for improvement.

If you're interested in helping out, ping me directly with your Github
username and I will add you. Thanks!
