It shouldn't be checking the other branches unless they have changes or you have set indexing to a silly high frequency. With this update you should be able to have "periodically unless otherwise run" at something between 1h and 24h (depending on how long you are willing to wait for an event that got lost to be picked up) so I definitely see improvement in the time it takes to kick the branch > build.
