Correct -- 2015/2016 we delayed 1.642.1 for two weeks, and 2016/2017 we delayed
2.32.2 for two weeks.

We have the slack in the schedule -- so we should make use of it if we expect
any impact on holidays on our ability to deliver solid releases.

Wouldn't it be advantageous to move this RC back to Jan 3 to allow for more
flexibility in backporting late fixes? Or is there an advantage to having a
four week RC testing period?

I don't think there's a need to plan to skip weeklies -- up to KK's
availability and out ability to merge relevant changes during this period. I
see this as independent from the LTS schedule.
