The GSoC 2020 projects have been announced by Google <https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/organizations/4945163270488064/>. We are proud to announce that our organization got 7 project slots. In the next four months we will have 6 students working on Jenkins and one - on Jenkins X, all of the selected students have already made valuable contributions to the project. Please welcome them to the Jenkins organization! - Sladyn Nunes - Custom Jenkins distribution build service - Sumit Sarin - External Fingerprint storage for Jenkins - Rishabh Budhouliya - Git Plugin Performance Improvements - Kezhi Xiong - GitHub Checks API for Jenkins plugins - Loghi Perinpanayagam - Jenkins Machine Learning Plugin for Data Science - Buddhika Chathuranga - Jenkins Windows Services: YAML Configuration Support - Zixuan Liu - Jenkins X: Apps/Addons consolidation In addition to the newcomer students, we will have a number of experienced and newcomer contributors who will be mentoring Jenkins projects: Kristin Whetstone, Jeff Pearce, Xiaojie Zhao, Andrey Falko, Oleg Nenashev, Michael Cirioli, Mark Waite, Francisco Fernandez, Parichay Barpanda, Justin Harringa, Ayush Agarwal, Jon Brohauge, Tim Jacomb, Ulli Hafner, Sagar Utekar, Next Turn, Marky Jackson, Ioannis Moutsatsos, Shivay Lamba and Bruno Kinoshita. Same to the Jenkins X folks: Kara de la Marck, Nikhil Da Rocha, James Strachan, Sahil Kalra, Neha Gupta, and Oscar Medina. Welcome aboard! In the next few days we will be updating the Jenkins website and posting more information there. Official blog post will also be published this week. During the next 4 weeks project teams will be reaching out to potential stakeholders in order to establish connections and to get feedback regarding their project designs. If you have any comments/proposals/concerns, please join the project-specific discussions in the mailing lists once they start. We will appreciate any feedback and help with project onboarding and community bonding.
