evernat resolved JENKINS-1334.
------------------------------
Resolution: Not A Defect
I think that it was a problem with your setup of Maven in Hudson and not a
problem with Hudson.
But you can reopen the issue if it is still a problem, with more recent
versions of Maven and Jenkins.

> I'm trying to do https with basic auth. It works great on the command-line
> using the same settings.xml where the username and password for the server is
> set, but fails in Hudson with a 401 authentication failed. I'm using maven
> 2.0.8 on the command line and I noticed that the jars in hudson use maven
> 2.0.4.
