David Riley created JENKINS-13031:
-------------------------------------
Summary: Job create permission does not allow user to configure job
Key: JENKINS-13031
URL: https://issues.jenkins-ci.org/browse/JENKINS-13031
Project: Jenkins
Issue Type: Bug
Components: security
Environment: v 1.448
Reporter: David Riley
When a job is created by a user with the "Job - Create" permission in project
based matrix auth strategy but not "Job - Configure" permission, the user can
create the job and the configuration screen is loaded but is not editable. This
sounds like it is working as intended, but I ask, what is the point of the Job
- create permission then? Who would want to create a job which does nothing? I
would expect this setting to allow the user to create a job and it is created
giving the user full permissions to that job. I do not want to allow all users
to configure every job, but allow them to create and manage their own jobs,
surely this should be possible...or am I missing something? Thanks
