Rafael Chies created JENKINS-13443:
--------------------------------------
Summary: Start using the concept of template or group for jobs, so
we can edit a simple configuration for a group of jobs.
Key: JENKINS-13443
URL: https://issues.jenkins-ci.org/browse/JENKINS-13443
Project: Jenkins
Issue Type: New Feature
Components: core
Reporter: Rafael Chies
Priority: Minor
I think could be a nice feature start using the concept of template or group
for jobs. When we want to create a Job based on other Job we have the option
"Copy existing Job". However, let us imagine a scenario where we have a lot of
jobs that has a lot of stuffs in common. After a while, we want to add some new
configuration for all these jobs, for example use the "Discard old buids"
configuration. Now a days, we have to edit each job to add this configuration.
Adding the concept of group, we can add this configuration to the group, and
all jobs attached to the group will get the configuration (RHQ from JBoss has
this concept with alerts).
If exists workaround to do that now a days, please, let me know.
