In the 'Jenkins Log' I saw two exceptions: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: hudson/maven/MavenBuild java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: hudson/tasks/JavadocArchiver So I enabled the following plugins (both were already installed but disabled): Maven Integration plugin Javadoc Plugin Now, builds do not get lost anymore after a Jenkins restart.
