Ben Ernst commented on JENKINS-14707 Failed to instantiate class hudson.plugins.git.GitSCM I was able to work around this issue. When I got the error, I was creating a Git Job with no Build Tasks. I set SCM to None, saved the project, then came back, added a Build Task and set the SCM back to Git, and then I was able to create the job. Not sure whether it was the adding a Build Task or the saving-with-no-SCM-then-trying-again, but it worked.
