So 1.477 works and 1.478 fails, with the same plugins and config? https://github.com/jenkinsci/jenkins/compare/jenkins-1.477...jenkins-1.478 shows no _javascript_ changes. I do not seem to have any problems with https://ci.jenkins-ci.org/job/jenkins_main_trunk/configure using IE 8 from XP.
