What I can say :

  • I only test plugin against LTS version (otherwise, I should have to test it every week... which sounds a bit difficult for me )
  • I don't like the "by hand" : scm sync config relies on svn credentials stored in xml file located in JENKINS_HOME (if you didn't, please have a look at the Troubleshoots page) which is not the same as the svn executable you're using when you're checking in/out things "by hand" (credentials are then generally stored in ~/.svn/ folder).
    That's why the assumption "When I make things by hand it works" is not a good one.
