Hi Alex,
I was doing this in the project area, not the trigger area, I didn't try in the trigger area. I installed the plug in a couple of days ago on a new build machine via the jenkins UI, so it downloaded the latest version I assume - it had an extra option to compress the build log which the version that I have that works does not have. I have copied over the older version from a machine that I have (the jpi folder and the plug in folder) and it now works. Not exactly sure how to find out the version number, but at a guess I would say 2.25 works, and after that it doesn't work for me.
