I tested with a new DNS configuration of my server (the link to the jenkins server is now http://smth.comp.org) and the comment of Israel Tsadok is right on point. The 'jenkins' part of the URL must be removed in such cases and the curl command did work.
I guess it was the same problem with my previous configuration.
As a side note I tested notifyCommit?url="" but two jobs monitoring a 'integration' and a 'qa' branches were scheduled for polling (not really a problem for me, already happy to have a trigger on push).
