After you uploaded the new git.hpi file through the Advanced tab on the Manage Plugins page, did you restart Jenkins so that the new version of the plugin would be active?
If not, you need to do that.
If you did, and it is showing exactly those messages, then I'll probably need to insert more logging statements to see the location where the code is reaching during execution.
