Marek Sieradzki commented on JENKINS-21469 Change from git clone to init+fetch makes clone from local GIT mirror a lot slower I have upgraded the plugin so I have to migrate it anyway but my point is still that --local is added automatically by git clone whenever it sees repo URL like /some/path/to/repo. I think --reference should be automatically when "cloning" local path.
