1.551 changed how workspace cleanup work, so needs to be reproduced in newer versions to be relevant.
Also, workspace cleanup can be disabled completely using a system property.
Also, why not store the shared repository outside the top-level 'workspace' folder, e.g. somewhere else in the slave home directory?
