I know what CSV stands for
It's not Excel itself that is configured incorrectly. As it turns out, on Windows Excel "may expect a semicolon as a separator instead of a comma [...] depending on the system's regional settings" [1]. To work around this, it would be nice to the able to customize the delimiter.
