If any of you have a solution how to distinguish all the crap that gets set by shell initialization files (say, HOME, USER, HOST, LS_COLORS, SHLVL, MAIL, PWD
, LESSOPEN, ...) from environment variables that a user sets, that would be helpful – otherwise these will only pollute the build environment in a probably incompatible way.
