So I guess the username and password flags only work with login now? So if you want to do this: java -jar jenkins-cli.jar -s http://localhost:8080 safe-shutdown --username "$JCLIUSER" --password "$JCLIPASSWD" Try to do it like this: java -jar jenkins-cli.jar -s http://localhost:8080 login --username "$JCLIUSER" --password "$JCLIPASSWD" java -jar jenkins-cli.jar -s http://localhost:8080 safe-shutdown --username "$JCLIUSER" --password "$JCLIPASSWD"
