A couple of ways to temporarily work around the issue, although both ugly:
1.) Is to add a ? at the end of the URL like:
https://hostname.com/job/JOBNAME/?
However any future sorting requires a new ? be appended to undo the sorting, and removing the question marks will result in sorting returning again.
2.) Start a new browser tab and the sorting should be reset in the new tab (tested with Firefox v30.0)
