For cost and instance management it would be extremely useful to be able to configure a set of tags that apply to all instances.
Right now, if you want to add, say, a BillingCategory tag, you have to add it to each individual instance type. With lots of instance types that adds up.
Time permitting I'll have a go at implementing this, I just wanted to put the idea out there.
