I also ran into the extremely slow rendering. Apart from that Jenkins is running fine. I can see all the jobs getting executed as they should, but looking into logs seems more comfortable by ssh-ing to the server and looking into .jenkins directory myself.
The installation is Jenkins-ci 1.5.72 on JBoss EAP 6.1.0. I verified the setup and the performance issue on JBoss EAP 6.2.0.
