This external reference has an external reference at his point too. MyProject build-scripts (X) binutils (X) split-debug The update fails when the binutils has been added since the previous build. I don't know if the second external reference is relevant, but I added for convenience to show the specific configuration at our site. The reason this is a Critical issues is because we have many multi-configuration Jobs, building the same project for multiple target platforms. When we add a new external reference, it takes a few builds (and a lot of time) until all Jobs for all platforms have been rebuilt back to success.
