Does this occur with just one Maven style project or all? I'm out of ideas at the moment and the only thing I can think it could be is an out of date object created with an earlier version of the plugin. Perhaps try creating a new Maven style project with the same settings and see if this fails.
If it does fail please send me a copy of your config.xml (under the 'jobs/<project>/' folder) and the latest build.xml (under the 'jobs/<project>/builds/<nnn>/ folder).
