Does this issue still occur on recent Jenkins versions? A few fixes related to symlinks happened in the mean time, so it'd be good to know whether this still occurs.
If so, please post the relevant folders' contents (e.g. the job folder, the build folder) and mention what file system they're on (NTFS, FAT, ...).
