Poor engineering is that tools are written only for one case and blowed later. This is just pure architecture and libraries. Dash is used not only for beta-alpha, this also used for 'branding' versions from forks or branches and i definitely use such cases for custom fixes. Also semver doesn't cover different version tails that used in dpkg, rpm and other package managers (tilda version, plus version, etc)
>From technical side this version is right, but you can open it as "enhancement" (in reality libraries and tools should be enhanced) and remove "keep from", because initial author is not maintaining this plugin anymore (i got this reply from Honza through vjuranek) and David is merging&releasing all PRs.
