Have you tried downgrading to version 2.4.5 of the plugin, as the comments suggest? Maybe that'll help?
Note that memory issues can be investigated by using JDK specific tools such as jmap which you could try using. It's possible that Java just grabbed the memory one and doesn't return it until another process needs it, but you provide no information to help investigate further.
ScriptTrigger Plugin should be able to do that.
