According to the javadoc, hudson.model.Slave#remoteFS is intended to be absolute, but there is nothing which enforces this as an invariant.
As a result of this bug, other plugins which rely upon this contract for remoteFS will break in mysterious ways if a slave is created which doesn't obey this contract.
It may be that the default Slave implementations correctly absolutize the root path, but there's at least one implementation which doesn't. So it needs enforcing.
