Joseph Wilkicki commented on JENKINS-23273 RPM post-install should not do a "chown -R ${JENKINS_USER:-jenkins} ${JENKINS_HOME:-/var/lib/jenkins}" As a workaround, I login to another shell and kill the chown underneath the post-install script. That is the last step in the script anyway and it lets the upgrade finish. Of course, I just use the default jenkins user, so it doesn't really matter if the chown half-completes.
