Alternatives to Build Pipeline Plugin?

Hi All,

I had high hopes for this plugin:
https://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/JENKINS/Build+Pipeline+Plugin

But it doesn't appear to work with promoted builds and the maintainers 
never reply to email.

Can anyone recommend any similar, maintained, alternatives?
