CI an OS kernel build? This sounds like a bad recipe to me... but here is how I 
would do it.

I would recommend you break your build into  a bunch of dependant builds.

1. the build
2. the reboot command
3. the tests

Make them all depend on the previous one completing successfully, and maybe add 
a 'cool down timer' on the last one - just to allow the host to reboot.

Am I understanding correct that you want to reboot *during* a build?
Why would you want to do that?
