These things aren't particularly related. Jenkins doesn't need a GUI
but if you have plenty of RAM it won't hurt it to have gnome sessions
on the console or as remote sessions. If your jenkins jobs need an X
session you probably want to start a dedicated vnc instance separately
for them.
