Yes, that is what parameters are for. You then access them as ${PARAM} in your
various build steps. These also become environment variables on your build
machine.

Subject: Jenkins Python API Query

Hello Everyone !

I am fairly new to Jenkins and off late have started playing with Python API
where I am able to run builds remotely.

I want to know if I can create a new job with choice of options such as "branch
to build", "artifacts to backup", "Polling" etc so that I can create
jobs/builds based on these parameters when and where needed. There is something
in configure job page as "This build is parameterized" and then it offer a
"String Parameter" where I can define some variable but I am kind of unsure if
this approach is right or not.

Please advise and provide links if this has already been done using any other
way.

Regards
AB
