Have you tried to raise a Jira ticket and linked to that particular plugin? 
I'm not sure if contacting the developer might be the right approach as 
those questions/answers might be hidden from others, so if you open a Jira 
ticket then it will be easy to track it and the owner of that plugin might 
receive an email indeed
