Let me explain...

Very new in computing, don't know much about servers...

I recently started using Jenkins and have a master node running on my
working PC, and successfully configured a windows slave/agent on another PC.

Since we have other OS, I'm told to "deploy jenkins directly on our Server"
with all slaved on the server's virtual machines (I guess), too, and I'm
given a Linux virtual machine created for me on that server.

My question is : how can I do it on a server?

I mean... I'm not familiar with the server and all, my only interaction
with a server is to login remotely via an SSH client such as putty, to
modify post-commit hook.

But to configure jenkins, I need its UI (the localhost:8080 in a browser)
to do everything, like slave config etc, no ?

I mean, yes we can install jenkins on Linux just by using command lines,
but that's jsut installation, what about all the config and plugins
management stuff, I need to do that on an actual browser right?

So I have no clue when I'm told to "deploy jenkins and slaves on a
server"...

Or in fact I can actually access a server with some sort of UI (monitor?)
and perform desktop-oriented tasks? Because a server as I understand it, is
nothing more than a bigger specialized computer right ? But often withhout
a monitor it seems? lol

If anyone can clearify the difference of installing and config Jenkins on a
PC and on a server I'd appreciate that very much :) Thanks a lot !
