When running with git-client plugin 2.8.6 we get the following error in the

When running with git-client plugin 2.8.4 it works fine.
I suspect 2.8.5 was the version that broke things because nothing important
seems to have changed in 2.8.6.
Can somebody let me know what the best course of action is?
