The demo you downloaded is from my web page. It refers to an extension
of JESS that I wrote earlier this year for an expert system. At the
time, JESS wasn't as advanced as it is today. You are welcome to use
my ideas to build your GUI. But, it might be worth, looking at all the
new features in JESS and come up with a new design for a GUI.

In order to get the applet running, your browser must support JDK1.1.
If you use Netscape as your primary browser, you can download patches
and latest releases of Netscape that support JDK1.1. at
http://developer.netscape.com/software/communicator/index.html?content=/soft
ware/jdk/download.html.

If you have any further questions about the demo applet, I'd be happy to
help you out. But let's do this discussion off the list. My email address
