Well, a print book would become obsolete w.r.t. new feaures, but not
regarding the core system, which remains fairly stable. Also, this
sort of book invariably comes with a CD containing the version of the
software being written about, which assures the buyer that they will
be able to use the material. Also common these days is a web page
dedicated to revisions, errata, and addenda to the book. I personally
still buy physical books, and I think quite a few  other folks do too!
