"Out of the box", CLIPS builds as a monolithic application. Initially,
I modified the Makefile such that CLIPS was divided into a shared
object (library) and dynamically-linked executable. Since then, I've
written a workable CLIPS make environment built around the GNU
'configure/autoconf' utilities. This stuff was tested on Solaris and
Linux, and works OK. You're welcome to it; if interested, drop me a
line.
