A note of appreciation for David Young. His autoconfig contribution
worked quite painlessly compiling CLIPS 6.10 (under RedHat 6.0
Linux). We are hoping Gary Riley will make this available on his
official CLIPS site.

After all that effort, but given the interest expressed here, and the
permission of the ever-generous Ernest, I'd pass on the following,
discovered in searching around the Web:

For RedHat and other systems using the RPM package installation
system, CLIPS 6.10 CLI and X GUI RPMs can be found at

http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/contrib/libc6/i386/clips-X11-6.10-4.i386.html

http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/contrib/libc6/i386/clips-X11-6.10-4.i386.html

I can confirm that these these Intel glibc(6) versions work just
fine with a RedHat 6.1 installation. The binaries install into
usr/bin and user/bin/X11R6 dirs, and full documention to appropriate
dirs in /usr/doc. The xclips RPM installs on top of the clips
package.

Just the smallest wrinkle now: With all the enhancements Ernest has
built in, it's not quite as convenient to test those .clps KBs etc.
with CLIPS! JESS stands so tall on its own!

Regards,

Bob T.
