Hello-

I use the latest Blackdown release without problems. I chose this because
of support it has over the IBM 1.1.8 JDK. My guess, however, is that for
many purposes, the IBM JDK is actually faster if you don't need Java 1.2
features.

As an aside, I'm eagerly awaiting a Java 1.3 release under linux. I've
actually found the Blackdown linux release more stable than Sun's version
for Windows (which seems to receive the most official support), but as
usual with respect to things of this nature, your milage may vary.
