I guess my suggestions in decreasing order of preference would be:

1. Use sockets
2. Rewrite the C/C++ code in Java
3. Use JNI

Which one works best depends on the condition and amount of existing C/C++ code,
whether you can set up the C/C++ as a separate process, amount of data passed back
and forth, etc. etc.
