Well, the first bit of information is what version of Jess are you
using -- an old one, or a current one? If it's an old one, this might
be a previously reported (and fixed) bug.

If it's a current version, there are plenty of things you could do to
cause things to go awry this way, especially if you're programming in
Java. Give us some more details about what you're doing exactly to
help narrow it down.
